Living near the ocean means that we get to work very closely with the US Coast Guard.  We often are called to a swimmer in distress on our beaches and jetty's, or to a visitor in distress at one of our overlook areas.  The Coast Guard Station Yaquina Bay uses a combination of boat and helicopter assets to perform their rescue mission.

Newport Fire and Rescue has a long history of cooperation with our local Coastguardsmen.
