The Rumsey & Co. Hand Pumper is shown in this 1909 photo, taken in front of the City Hall (still under construction) on the bay front at the foot of Fall Street.  Also shown are the hose reels that accompanied the Pumper.  A total of 4 hose reels were utilized.

After being removed from service in the 1940's, the Hand Pumper was restored by the Newport Volunteers in 1978 and presented to the City of Newport for display in the lobby of Station 1.  It remains there today and is often used for parades.
